The Position
GFA seeks a full-time middle school health teacher to begin in August 2026. The ideal candidate will have relevant teaching experience, a counseling background, a student-centered approach, and a passion for working with middle school students. This teacher will join a collegial Middle School faculty who put children at the center of everything they do and who are committed to knowing and loving every child. The division’s motto is “Dare to Be Different. Dare to be Yourself,” and every faculty member strives to support students in their social and emotional learning. The health teacher reports to the Head of Middle School and is a member of the counseling department.

Responsibilities
- Teaching middle school health classes
- Advising a group of 10-12 middle school students
- Extracurricular Duties: Faculty members chaperone trips and events and sometimes take on responsibility for advising clubs, community service activities, and other programs that enhance the educational experience of the students.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years relevant teaching experience
- Master’s degree preferred
Location
Founded in 1925, GFA is situated on a former Vanderbilt estate in a scenic 44-acre waterfront campus located in Westport, CT. GFA is a suburban school close to many transportation options and a five-minute walk from the Greens Farms Metro-North train station. The campus sits a half-hour south of New Haven and an hour north of New York City by car or commuter train.
