World Languages Teacher, Middle School Spanish
St. Martin’s Episcopal School is seeking a culturally competent and responsive World Languages Teacher to teach Middle School Spanish. This faculty position reports to the Head of Middle School and plays a vital role in fostering academic growth, global awareness, and personal development in students.

Position Overview
The World Languages Teacher is responsible for creating an engaging, student-centered classroom environment that supports language acquisition, cultural understanding, and personal growth. The teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues, communicate effectively with families, and contribute meaningfully to the life of the Middle School and the broader school community.
Key Responsibilities
Primarily responsible for classroom activities and for the management, organization, and discipline of the classroom.
Teach 4–5 Middle School Spanish classes and serve as a grade-level advisor
Design and implement lesson plans aligned with divisional instructional and philosophical standards
Translate lesson plans into learning experiences that actively involve and engage students
Integrate technology, media, and modern instructional tools into classroom teaching
Seek regular field experience opportunities for students that extend the classroom into the broader community.
Collaborate closely with grade-level and departmental colleagues to support student success
Establish clear expectations for student behavior through positive relationships and reinforcement
Assess, evaluate, and document students’ academic and social growth
Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, email, meetings, and School events
Sponsor 1–2 school clubs or activities
Chaperone field trips, including local and overnight trips, and one Middle School dance
Attend required meetings, Parent Night, chapel services, and before- and after-school conferences as needed
Attend chapel services and include a daily devotion as a grade-level advisor.
Support the School’s mission by participating in long-range planning and upholding School philosophy
Adhere to all School policies, including safety and emergency procedures
Interest in coaching, advising, or sponsoring student activities is welcomed

Work Schedule & Position Status
The role is a 10-month position that follows the school’s academic calendar. The position is paid over a 12-month period and includes typical daily working hours of Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–3:45 p.m. during the academic year. The position joins our faculty as a full-time and benefits-eligible employee. The role is salaried and Exempt per FLSA guidelines.
Physical Requirements
This position is primarily performed indoors and may involve standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
