Tower School is an independent Beginners - 8th grade school located in Marblehead, MA. Position Overview:
Tower School is seeking a passionate and skilled Middle School Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year who will also serve as a Math Support Specialist. As we continue to expand and strengthen our math program, we are committed to ensuring that every student is challenged, supported, and empowered. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative faculty and play a key role in helping us design and deliver a math experience that reaches all learners through differentiated instruction and individualized learning plans. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who embraces and brings deep content knowledge, a commitment to student-centered learning, and a desire to support students both in and out of the classroom to achieve success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach a range of middle school math using engaging, inquiry-based, and developmentally appropriate instructional practices.
Provide targeted math support and intervention for students needing additional guidance, including small-group instruction, skill-building sessions, and individualized support plans.
Collaborate with the math team and academic leadership to refine and enhance the school’s math curriculum, ensuring alignment, rigor, and accessibility.
Use assessment data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
Creating a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and a growth mindset in mathematics while fostering respect, collaboration, and inclusivity.
Conduct formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
Write detailed, personalized progress reports and conduct conferences with parents/guardians.
Maintain open, supportive communication with students, families, and colleagues.
Participate in school life such as faculty meetings, professional development, collaborative team meetings, and community events.
Serve as a student advisor and participate in school events.
Support and contribute to school-wide diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice efforts.
Coach a sport or lead an extracurricular activity (stipend available).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Education, or a related field and expertise in subject matter.
At least two years of teaching experience in upper elementary or middle school settings.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Enthusiasm for contributing to a growing, forward-thinking math curriculum.
Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience with curriculum development.
Background in student advising or extracurricular leadership.
Training or coursework in diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
Working Conditions:
School-based position requiring in-person presence.
Must be able to perform the physical duties of a classroom teacher (standing, walking, occasional lifting, etc.).
