HudsonWay Immersion School seeks a dedicated Head Spanish Immersion Teacher for grades K–2 who is passionate about bilingual education and committed to student-centered, culturally responsive teaching. The ideal candidate will demonstrate native-level fluency in Spanish, a deep understanding of early childhood and elementary pedagogy, and a strong commitment to the immersion model. This individual will support students’ academic, social-emotional, and linguistic development through engaging, inquiry-based instruction in Spanish.
Primary Responsibilities
Instructional Planning & Delivery
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with curriculum goals and support language immersion.
Implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
Integrate social-emotional learning and developmentally appropriate practices in the classroom.
Utilize assessments and linguistic benchmarks to inform instruction and track student progress.
Classroom Environment
Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom culture that fosters student growth and curiosity.
Promote positive behavior and maintain a well-managed, respectful learning environment.
Support students in setting goals and taking ownership of their learning.
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate daily with grade-level and specialist teachers to plan interdisciplinary units and support individual student needs.
Communicate regularly with families to build strong partnerships and support each child's learning journey.
Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
Additional Responsibilities
Maintain accurate student records in accordance with school policies and legal requirements.
Support school policies and contribute to a positive school culture.
Actively engage in professional learning and reflect on teaching practices for continuous growth.
Serve on school committees and participate in curriculum development as needed.
Schedule:
Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Tuesday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:50 PM

Qualifications
Native-level fluency in Spanish (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education (required)
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in elementary settings (preferred)
Commitment to bilingual education and continuous professional development
Strong classroom management, planning, and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with educational technology tools (preferred)
