HWIS is seeking an experienced HR Assistant to join the school on a part-time basis (20-25 hrs./wk.).

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Handles all employment verification letters, job postings, resume reviews, form collection, etc.
• Collects and files Employee new hire forms; creating employee files
• Sending and collecting benefits onboarding paperwork
• Oversees licensing documents
• Serves as point of contact for benefits administration
• Tracks PTO for NY campus
• Serves as a resource for staff with general questions/issues
• Processes visa paperwork
• Ensures records maintain compliance with federal, state and local laws and school policies.
• Performs related duties or projects as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years' HR administrative experience required. Exposure to recruitment procedures and benefit plans is highly desired.
• Knowledge of employment law, and federal, state & local regulations necessary.
• Experience with visa applications (h1b, OPT/CPT)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.
• Must be highly organized and attentive to detail.
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
• Strong computer skills
• Capable to hold confidential information and handle sensitive data with professionalism and common sense.
• Experience in an educational setting is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with all federal, state and local regulations including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, move, climb stairs, etc., to move through school property; ability to travel between NJ & NY locations
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
