The Grier School, an all girls’ private boarding/day school outside of Tyrone, PA in the mountainside village of Birmingham has openings due to a growing enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. Grier is internationally and nationally known. Class sizes average between 8-10 students. Director of Admissions
Develop and oversee the implementation of a strategic enrollment plan to attract, enroll, and retain a dynamic student population in accordance with enrollment priorities as determined by the board of trustees
Division/Department: Admissions
Reports to: Head of School
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
· Articulate and advance the school’s enrollment priorities and philosophy
· Lead and manage the admissions team by providing vision, objectives, and expectations of work performance that support the admissions team and its activities in meeting defined goals
· Maintains admissions and enrollment statistics and provides status and achievement reports to other senior leadership as directed
· Represent Grier School at various external organizations and associations
· Invest in the life of the school by participating in weekly meetings, continuing education and faculty enrichment, and any and all aspects that support the student and faculty experiences as appropriate to the role
· Demonstrate professional behavior, including discretion, good judgement, and integrity
· Develop strategies and processes leading to all facets of the admissions process in the school’s effort to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse and dynamic student population, including designing and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan for admissions of new students to the school that is inclusive of revolving objectives, goals, and outcomes
· Organize and oversee activities to attract a diverse class of high-quality applicants
· Ensure a dynamic, relationship-centric ambassador program
· Develop and oversee the evaluation and decision process of admissions, including establishing standards for evaluation and final admission decisions to successfully enroll students who reflect the Grier School mission
· Work with senior leadership team regarding the development of interventions for strong retention
· Oversee school’s ongoing certification and compliance with Department of Homeland Security’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and the coordinating reporting process for school and student records in SEVIS; serve as the school’s Primary Designated School Official (PDSO)
· Work closely with senior leadership team to implement strategic net-tuition plan for financial aid awards
· Review files and application materials to determine an applicant’s eligibility for intuitional funds
· Coordinate with the business office and other senior leadership to review and renew financial aid awards for returning students to maximize retention
· Coordinate with business and development offices to secure Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) funds as well as private donations for scholarship purposes
· Initiate and conduct research regarding Grier School’s differentiating factors and articulate message through internal and external communications
· Create and execute marketing plans and develop admissions publications and programs that are consistent with the overall mission and message of Grier School
· Hire and oversee contractors/consultants for marketing and communications work including multimedia content, print publications, website design, and digital marketing campaigns in current and emerging markets
· Ability to work with, and a genuine liking of, teenagers
· Understanding and support of Grier’s school policies and procedures
