The Summer At Baldwin Camp is hiring a creative, energetic, and highly organized Camp Coordinator to lead the planning and implementation of themed activities, decorations, and special events. The Coordinator brings camp spirit to life by ensuring each week's theme is engaging and visually exciting. This role focuses on activity preparation, camper engagement, and hands-on support during programs and events.
Camp Dates: Monday-Friday, June 15-July 31st, 2026 (position begins June 1st, 2026).
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Themed Activities
Plan, organize, and run daily themed activities, special challenges, and camp-wide events.
Develop creative ideas that align with weekly camp themes and ensure they are age-appropriate and engaging.
Prepare all materials and supplies for daily activities in advance; ensure setups are ready for counselors each morning.
Collaborate with counselors to ensure activities run smoothly and adapt plans as needed based on group needs and weather conditions.
Decorations & Camp Spirit
Lead weekly theme decoration of camp spaces, transforming hallways, bulletin boards, and activity areas.
Manage the art gallery, displaying camper projects and maintaining an engaging environment that celebrates creativity.
Assist with All Camp opening activities to foster excitement and build community spirit.
Event Coordination
Organize and assist in running special events (e.g., field days, carnivals, performances).
Coordinate logistics and ensure materials, decorations, and setups are complete for each event.
Work with the Assistant Manager to ensure supply needs are communicated and met ahead of time.
Provide on-the-ground support during large-scale activities to ensure safety, organization, and enthusiasm.
Camper & Group Support
Step in to support camp groups as needed, providing coverage for counselors or assisting with activities.
Ensure all campers are safe, visible, and engaged throughout the day.
Qualifications
Must be at least 20 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
Prior experience working with children in a camp, classroom, or recreational setting
Strong creativity, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to plan, organize, and implement engaging activities and events
Physically able to lift/carry 35 lbs and stay active throughout the day
Prior teaching, event planning, or arts experience a plus
