POSITION OVERVIEW

Harrisburg Academy is seeking a passionate, student-centered and dedicated Academic Support Teacher to join our school community. The successful candidate will provide targeted academic interventions and individualized support to students who require additional assistance in achieving their full academic potential. This position involves close collaboration with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement effective learning plans that promote student growth, confidence, and success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design & Deliver:Implement research-based tiered instructional strategies to support divers learning needs; Develop and implement individualized student learning and improvement plans; Provide targeted academic support in both individual and small-group settings.
• Assess & Adjust:Utilize formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress; Analyze student performance data and adjust instructional strategies as needed to maximize outcomes; Maintain accurate records of student achievement and intervention effectiveness.
• Collaborate:Partner with classroom teachers, school administrators, and support staff to identify student needs and develop appropriate interventions; Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and support strategies; Participate in team meetings and contribute to the evaluation and enhancement of academic support programs.
• Mentor:Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment; Encourage student self-advocacy, resilience, and academic confidence; Help students develop skills and strategies necessary for long-term success.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor degree required. Master’s degree preferred
• Exceptional communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with parents and staff.
