The Winston School seeks a dynamic and experienced leader in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to serve as the Lester Levy, Sr. Chair of STEM-D2 Education and teacher to begin in the 2026-2027 school year. This individual will be instrumental in building the newly envisioned STEM-D2 program at The Winston School, and shepherding the new program alongside fellow faculty, community partnerships, and exciting opportunities to lead with STEM in learning different education. The Winston School aims to reshape STEM education with a deep focus in design-thinking and differentiation in the classroom.

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a STEM-related field - or other amazing life experience that demonstrates experience and expertise in working with students in the STEM world!
Demonstrated experience teaching science, mathematics, engineering, and/or technology at the middle and/or high school level.
Background in managing maker-spaces/innovation labs, and incorporating robotics, 3D printing, coding platforms, etc.
Demonstrated experience in managing safety and maintenance with tools, machines, and technology in teaching, learning, and innovation spaces.
Experience and/or knowledge of CAD Design, laser cutting, welding, CNC tool operation, power/hand tool operation, woodworking tools, coding and computer science, and circuit design.
Ideally, the candidate will also have experience with programs such as First LEGO League, BEST/VEX Robotics (or similar), NASA Rover, First Tech Challenge, etc.
Be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends with teams of students preparing for and competing in a variety of STEM activities.
Must have experience supporting students with learning differences.
A growth mindset and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
At least three years of experience in STEM education or related fields (e.g. summer camps, industry, educational outreach, etc.).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with young people, families, and community members.
A commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all students, as well as, the ability to motivate and inspire.
An “all-in” mindset, resilience, and commitment to teaching and being a part of a school community beyond the classroom!
