Lawrence School seeks a reliable and hardworking individual to join our school facilities team. This role focuses on routine maintenance and repair tasks while supporting custodial duties as needed.
The maintenance technician completes assigned duties at the Upper School Campus (10036 Olde Eight Road, Sagamore Hills, OH 44067) as directed by the Director of Facilities and Maintenance. As a valued member of our community, this position is crucial to maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for our students and staff. The schedule may vary during summer, student break periods, non-school days, and occasional scheduling needs. We encourage candidates seeking part-time employment to apply.
JOB DUTIES:
Provide routine maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, lighting, door hardware) with minimal interruptions or distractions to teachers, students, staff, visitors, or events that may be in progress
Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Troubleshoot and resolve basic building system issues within scope of training and qualifications
Assist with furniture assembly, relocation, and delivery of supplies and equipment
Set up and break down furniture and equipment for school events and activities
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in safe and orderly condition
Support custodial tasks as needed, including cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
High school diploma or GED
Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance tools (e.g., hand tools, ladders, power tools, floor scrubber, snow blower)
Ability to follow safety protocols and handle cleaning chemicals appropriately
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
Must pass fingerprinting and background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in school or commercial building maintenance
Familiarity with basic plumbing, electrical, or carpentry tasks
