Educator’s Ally is seeking Math and Science Teachers for independent private day and boarding schools across the United States. We partner with schools to identify talented, student-centered educators who bring strong content knowledge, a commitment to inclusive teaching, and a passion for working with young people.
We welcome candidates with experience at the elementary, middle, or high school level, across all math and science disciplines.
Position Overview
Math and Science teachers in independent schools are nurturing, intellectually curious educators who design engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Successful candidates foster inquiry, critical thinking, and a joy for learning while supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. Teachers are expected to collaborate closely with colleagues and contribute meaningfully to the broader life of the school community.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Teaching Math and/or Science at the elementary, middle, or upper school level
Designing and delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons that support diverse learning styles and developmental needs
Developing and adapting curriculum based on student needs and school standards
Using student-centered, proficiency-based, and project-based approaches to instruction
Integrating technology and real-world applications to deepen mathematical and scientific understanding
Assessing student learning using a range of formative and summative methods
Providing timely, constructive feedback to support student growth
Maintaining regular communication with families regarding student progress and expectations
Collaborating with department members and grade-level teams on curriculum development and alignment
Supporting a classroom culture that values curiosity, inclusivity, and belonging
Contributing to school life beyond the classroom through advising, extracurriculars, athletics, clubs, admissions, or residential life (role-dependent)
Qualifications
Successful candidates will typically have:
Expertise in one or more Math disciplines (e.g., Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, Linear Algebra, or related areas) and/or Science disciplines (e.g., General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields)
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area (Master’s degree preferred)
Prior teaching experience at the appropriate grade level
Strong understanding of student development and best practices in teaching and learning
Experience using instructional technology effectively
Commitment to collaboration, professional growth, and inclusive community building
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Enthusiasm for contributing to the academic and extracurricular life of a school
