Sayre Lower School seeks a dedicated and compassionate paraeducator to join our collaborative elementary team for the 2025/2026 school year. This person will play an important role in providing additional academic support and reinforcement to our 1st through 4th grade students as needed. Working under the supervision of lead teachers, the para educator will work with small groups and individual students both inside the regular classroom and through a pull-out model. This role will work with multiple teachers and will require someone to have good time management, great people skills, particularly with young children, and a strong academic skillset. Our para educator will also serve as a floater/substitute when teachers are absent or in a parent meeting. This is a full-time position, working 7.5 hours per day.
Expectations and Responsibilities:
Assist in classrooms as needed
Work with students in small groups for both reading and math. This could serve as support to students or enrichment activities.
Collaborates with the lead teachers for academics
Support classroom teachers during meetings, or if needed, in the role of a substitute
Qualifications:
High school degree; associates or bachelor's preferred
Experience working with elementary-aged students
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Kindness and a sense of humor
The ability to adhere to all Sayre School policies and procedures of professionalism
