Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School seeks to hire a Head Girls’ Wrestling Coach for grades 9 through post-graduate student-athletes starting immediately. The head coach will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to all facets of the girls’ wrestling program and advancing the mission of Wyoming Seminary and the Athletics Department. The head coach will report directly to the Director of Athletics.
Specific areas of responsibility include wrestling-specific coaching, recruitment, student-athlete development, program administration, and program advancement. All activities shall be conducted within the policies and resource framework of Wyoming Seminary, the Athletics Department, National Preps, and the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS).
Responsibilities:
Comply fully with all USA Wrestling, National Prep, and Wyoming Seminary rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Plan, develop, administer, and oversee the girls’ wrestling program for 20-35 student athletes.
Provide leadership and instruction in the development of student-athletes by counseling team members in academic, citizenship, sportsmanship, and personal matters as needed.
Communicate effectively and regularly with administration, faculty, staff, students, and families.
Supervise, manage, and evaluate assistant coaches.
Schedule all scrimmages and matches. Communicate with the Athletic Department for facilities use.
Partner with Wyoming Seminary’s College Counseling Team and the Athletic Directors to support the student-athletes’ college recruiting process.
In conjunction with the Director of Development, assist in fundraising and development activities, and continued positive public relations with alumni and the community.
Represent the team, department, and school in a positive, professional, and ethical manner; respond appropriately to media, marketing, fundraising, and community service requests.
Travel domestically and internationally for competitions.
Work closely with the Athletic Trainers and Health Services team to care for and prevent athletic injuries, and support the overall drug and alcohol education program for student-athletes.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience coaching, recruiting, and fundraising at a high school, college, or university.
Current certification for CPR, AED, and concussion management.
Demonstrated athletic leadership experience and strong administrative, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
Potential for part-time campus work as needed.
