Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and highly professional Full-Time School Nurse to support the health and well-being of students from 15 months through Grade 12. The School Nurse plays a critical role in promoting a safe, healthy learning environment while partnering with students, families, faculty, and administrators.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily nursing care, first aid, and emergency response to students and staff.
- Manage chronic health conditions, including diabetes care (blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, and coordination with families and healthcare providers).
- Administer daily and as-needed medications in accordance with physician orders, parental authorization, and school policy.
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans and emergency action plans for students with medical needs.
- Maintain accurate health records, medication logs, and immunization compliance.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns and ongoing care.
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student well-being and safety.
- Promote health education and wellness initiatives across all grade levels.
- Monitor communicable diseases and implement infection control procedures.
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and crisis response.
- Support the School’s leadership with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-required)
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with pediatric nursing, school nursing, or chronic condition management preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Comfort working with students across a wide developmental range (primarily ages 4–18, but could include 15 months to 3 years)
