Position Summary:
The Classroom Management Specialist works alongside the teacher to ensure a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment for all students. This role focuses on promoting adherence to the Professional Conduct Guidelines of UNIS’s Teaching and Learning Policy, ensuring that all students are treated with dignity and respect. The Classroom Management Specialist supports effective classroom management, observes teaching practices, and provides feedback to uphold the school’s standards of professional behavior and student care.
Key Responsibilities:
Observe classroom interactions to ensure alignment with UNIS’s Professional Conduct Guidelines and core values.
Promote and model respectful, inclusive, and student-centered practices. Support classroom management strategies that foster a safe and positive environment for all learners.
Provide timely feedback to teachers and administrators regarding adherence to conduct and professional standards.
Collaborate with the classroom teacher and school leadership to address any concerns related to classroom environment or professional conduct.
Assist in maintaining a calm, organized, and engaging atmosphere that supports student well-being and learning.
Uphold confidentiality and discretion in all observations and communications.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience teaching in a K-12 educational or child-centered environment is essential, with familiarity or expertise in the Responsive Classroom Approach.
Native or near-native proficiency in French required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide feedback constructively and professionally.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting respect, equity, and student dignity in all interactions.
Ability to observe sensitively and respond appropriately to diverse classroom situations.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred; background in education, psychology, or child development a plus.
Compensation
Compensation is between $67,745 - $111,974, commensurate with years of experience as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (salary is prorated for part-time or temporary positions).
