The Computer Science and Engineering Department seeks a skilled educator who can ignite students’ curiosity in computer science, promote creativity and accuracy in engineering design, and support excellence in practical, hands-on learning. The ideal candidate will inspire through high-quality instruction, meaningful mentorship, and the incorporation of emerging technologies into the classroom.
Preferred qualifications include at least three years of teaching experience in computer science and engineering, as well as an advanced degree. The expected annual salary range for this position is $75,000 to $125,000, with the final determination based on experience, education level and other job-related factors.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: • Experience using various Integrated Development Environments such as Processing, Unity, Visual Studio Code, Xcode, and others. • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, such as Java, Python, C++, and C#. • Foundational Computer Science instruction, including Data Structures and Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, computational thinking, and software design principles. • Experience teaching or applying computer systems topics such as operating systems, networking, cybersecurity, or databases. • Passion for developing hands-on computing projects, from coding challenges to full-stack applications, simulations, or game development. • Additive Manufacturing familiarity (e.g., 3D printing) as a supplemental tool for interdisciplinary computing and design projects. • Introductory exposure to engineering and fabrication tools, such as CAD software and basic shop equipment. • Experience supporting competitive or extracurricular technology programs, such as FIRST Robotics, coding competitions, and hackathons.
The successful candidate will possess the desire and the willingness to develop their professional practice in both existing and emerging technologies. The annual salary range for this position is $75,000 to $125,000, based on experience and education level, which will be prorated based on the number of weeks worked.
