The Langley School, a Preschool-8 independent school in McLean, Virginia, seeks a Librarian opening for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The librarian’s role is to create an enriching literary environment that supports diverse learners, promotes a love of reading, and advances information literacy. Responsibilities include overseeing, developing, and maintaining a dynamic and up-to-date collection of educational and recreational materials and ensuring alignment with the institution's curricular needs. The librarian collaborates with and inspires a team composed of an additional librarian and volunteer support staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. The position’s commitment extends to supporting curricular needs and recreational reading interests within the community. Additionally, the librarian teaches classes for several grades across the PS-8 arc of development.

A minimum of two years prior classroom or library experience in a PS-8 school setting

Experience developing innovative and best-practice library curricula and programming is strongly preferred
