The ideal Science teacher engages in experiential, inquiry-based pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning while understanding differentiated instruction. We seek teachers who have the flexibility to teach any middle school science-level course, understand the importance of developing student research skills, and value working in a highly collaborative teaching and learning environment. Candidates should be comfortable working with students with a range of academic capabilities and be open to their own continued professional growth. Key Responsibilities:

• Teach a course load of 4 sections of Middle School Science (Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science)
• Serve as an advisor for 12-14 students annually and guide and support the Social-Emotional Learning program.
• Work as a collaborative member of a grade-level and departmental team.
• Participate in a weeklong, grade-level overnight trip annually
• Engage in shared middle school responsibilities and duties, including our DaVinci activity periods, study halls, and student supervision.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in science, science education, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of relevant classroom teaching experience teaching middle school-aged students.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, and the community.
