Washington Academy is seeking a highly motivated candidate for our position of Health/Physical Education Residential Faculty. This position begins at the start of 2025-2026 school year.
This is an eleven-month position for individuals wishing to work and live in a private secondary school setting. Residential Faculty will teach classes, live and work as part of our residential staff, and coach or advise a club, activity or sport. The residential portion has summer responsibilities with our summer program and will be discussed in the interview.
As part of their residential compensation Residential Faculty are provided health insurance, dorm housing, all meals, internet, and an opportunity to travel on school trips. Residential Faculty receive college course reimbursement, an opportunity to participate in a teacher orientation and training program and comprehensive professional development opportunities.
A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and to be certified in Maine or a willingness to work towards being certified in Maine are required.
The successful candidate must hold a current CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) through the Maine Department of Education.
