Provide updates on students’ progress and continued areas of focus with parents and teachers as necessary
Qualifications:
Orton-Gillingham certification at the Associate level or higher (Classroom educator certification alone does not meet the requirement)
3 - 5 years of prior experience supporting early literacy development in one-on-one or small-group settings
Strong understanding of structured literacy and the science of reading
Skilled at using multisensory, explicit, and systematic instruction to support reading, spelling and writing
Demonstrated success differentiating instruction to meet a range of learning profiles
Ability to design engaging, targeted lessons that build student confidence and foundational skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills
A demonstrated understanding of diversity and cultural competency through prior work with diverse populations
Able to build trusting relationships with students, families and teachers
Maintains a learner’s mindset and a problem-solving approach to new challenges
Tutors are paid on a per-session basis. The pay is $84 for a 40 minute session; $99 for a 50 minute session; and $118 for a 60 minute session.
