 About the Beginners 4/5 Assistant Teacher Position&#xa0;&#xa0; 
 The Beginners 4/5 Assistant Teacher serves as a member of our Early Childhood School faculty. Our Early Childhood teachers are experienced, dynamic and possess a strong sense of pedagogy.  Key School is seeking a part-time&#xa0;Early Childhood Literacy Specialist for the 2026-2027 academic year to work in its early childhood program (First School), ages 2.5 years through Kindergarten. Reporting to the First and Lower School Learning Department Head and First School Division Head, Early Childhood Literacy Specialist provides a critical student support role for Key&#8217;s youngest students. &#xa0;&#xa0;

 Compensation/Benefits:&#xa0; 
 Key School follows a salary scale that recognizes direct years of experience that correlate to the steps on the scale. The part-time salary range based on the full-time equivalency for this position is $23,702.50-$44,502.50 and is determined by several factors that include, but not limited to, the candidate&#8217;s work experience, education and skills. There are additional opportunities on campus for coaching and various stipends as well.&#xa0; This part-time position is not eligible for health insurance benefits. However, part-time faculty may be eligible for select benefits in accordance with School policy, including participation in the School&#8217;s retirement plan and other applicable offerings.&#xa0; 
 Technical Competencies (instructional positions):&#xa0; 
 All candidates for teaching positions should be familiar with learning management systems such as Seesaw and Google Classroom and have the ability to create and deliver engaging multimedia content using a variety of digital tools. Candidates should be proficient in using Google applications, have a solid understanding of cloud-based storage and file-sharing platforms, and efficiently manage email and scheduling using Gmail and Google Calendar.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
 Lead with passion and love for the game of volleyball
 
 Foster a positive, disciplined, and respectful team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and teamwork 
 Design and execute organized, efficient, and purposeful practices that address individual and team needs 
 Develop and implement effective game plans while making in-game adjustments to support player growth and team performance. 
 Supervise player behavior and conduct, ensuring a safe environment during practices, games, and travel 
 Coordinate with the varsity head coach to align systems, terminology, and expectations across the volleyball program 
 Maintain clear and respectful communication with players, parents, varsity coaching staff, and school administration and the schools athletic directors.

 The duties of a Social Studies teacher include creating lesson plans, preparing classroom activities, organizing teaching materials, evaluating student performance, maintaining classroom records, meeting with parents, teachers and other professionals, and participating in campus events 
 Teach social studies required courses and electives 
 Serve as a member of the Social Studies Department, attend departmental meetings, develop and update course curricula, purchase supplies within a budget, collaboratively plan experiential learning opportunities that include domestic or international travel and review textbooks

 | Qualifications| 
 
 A bachelor&#8217;s degree in Social Studies or other discipline with significant study of social sciences 
 AP US History and Psychology teaching experience preferred but not required
