Thomas Jefferson Academy, located in Louisville, Georgia, is conducting a search for a Head of School for the 2023-2024 school term. Thomas Jefferson Academy is a community minded school founded on Christian values. We are an independent school that provides college preparatory curriculum for students in grades K3-12.

At Thomas Jefferson Academy, our goal is to provide a safe and wholesome environment for students of all backgrounds. We encourage academic growth, foster community involvement, promote personal responsibility and properly equip our graduates to be well rounded members of society. We strive for excellence in academics, as well as in extracurricular and athletic activities.

Preferred Credentials: Applicants would hold a master’s degree, certificate in school administration and supervision.  Experience of 2-3 years as an administrative leader with the ability to lead our school in its strategic vision and plan.

The Head of School will report directly to the Board and be responsible for the school’s overall leadership and day-to-day management. The Head of School will oversee all aspects of school administration, including curriculum advancement and instruction, faculty and staff management, student support, business and financial affairs, recruitment, and community engagement.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide leadership for the school in a Christian manner in the classroom and the community consistent with core guiding principles of the school.
• Oversee curriculum development to ensure our high academic standards are maintained and improved upon. Direct the school in retention of the school’s accreditation status.
• In collaboration with the Board, ensure the present and future fiscal health of the school through budget preparation and management, student body retention and growth, and visionary leadership.
• Develop and ensure adherence of all school policies, including discipline and attendance.
• Lead the school in the recruitment of new students and families.
• Lead the school in maintenance of current staff and the recruitment and selection of new and replacement staff.
• Coordinate with staff regarding the maintenance and enhancement of school property and grounds.
• Oversee the development of Capital Campaigns, Alumni Relations, as well as the proper marketing strategies for the school.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Board.
