Student Supervisor – Community Life Focus, Full Time 7:30am - 3:30pm M-F
The Student Supervisor with a focus on community life oversees student interactions during both recess periods and lunch while fostering a sense of belonging through engaging community programs. In collaboration with the Head Supervisor and the Manor Admin Team, this role ensures a positive and inclusive environment for students and develops initiatives to encourage connection, collaboration, and school spirit during unstructured times.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Safety
Monitor student activities during recess, lunch and lunch recess to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
Address conflicts and behavioral issues promptly and in alignment with school policies.
Promote rules and procedures to maintain order and student well-being.
Collaborate with staff to address any concerns related to student supervision.
Community Program Development
Create and implement lunch programs and events to promote community building, engagement, and inclusivity.
Develop creative, age-appropriate activities that encourage student interaction and collaboration.
Partner with teachers, parents, and student leaders to incorporate diverse cultural and community-focused themes.
Evaluate the success of programs and adapt them to meet student interests and needs.
Communication & Collaboration
Serve as a role model for students, promoting respect, responsibility, and community engagement.
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding events and behavioral expectations.
Work closely with school leadership to align programs with the school’s mission and values.
Provide feedback and reports on student behavior and program outcomes as needed.
Administrative Support
Maintain schedules and documentation for supervision coverage and community events with Head Supervisor
Coordinate resources and materials needed for lunch programs.
Assist with other supervisory or administrative duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent; some college or education-related experience preferred.
Conversational French welcome but not required
Experience working with children or young adults in a supervisory or educational role.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage conflicts and enforce rules in a fair and consistent manner.
Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging activities and events.
Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive school culture.
Working Conditions:
Active, outdoor supervision during recess and lunch periods in various weather conditions.
Occasional lifting of supplies and equipment for events.
Flexible hours may be required for community events outside regular school hours.
