POSITION STATEMENT Associate Director of Enrollment Management

THE POSITION
The Associate Director of Enrollment Management plays a pivotal role in advancing the strategic goals of the Enrollment Management Team. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management, the Associate Director will contribute to shaping a dynamic admissions experience and steward families through the full enrollment journey – from inquiry to matriculation. This collaborative team member will work with colleagues, students, families, and community partners to ensure a robust and equitable enrollment experience.An essential focus of the Associate Director is the management of admissions, matriculation, and transition of students and their families into the BFS community. As a result, knowledge and care of the intellectual and social emotional development of adolescents, comfort with admissions technology, communication, and a commitment to promoting a diverse community is expected. All Colleagues are expected to be active community members, sharing duties, general support and care of the school community. The Associate Director will serve as a thought partner to the Director and a key liaison to the Learning Communities, with a particular focus on transition years, program alignment, and family retention.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
This position reports to the Director of Enrollment Management
Actively engage in all stages of the enrollment process—including family interviews, leading campus tours, evaluating applications, facilitating committee meetings, and stewarding families through the full admissions journey—with a focus on mission alignment and relationship-building.
Serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Enrollment Management in developing, refining, and evaluating multi-year enrollment and retention strategies.
Play a key role in the school’s retention efforts by analyzing student and family engagement data, identifying attrition risks and trends, and facilitating a Retention Committee.
Use data to track and analyze enrollment trends, inform decision-making, and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment and retention initiatives.
Articulate why, how, and what the BFS educational environment offers students, ensuring a deep understanding of each Learning Community to support continuity in matriculation and a seamless student and family experience.
Engage and collaborate with current students through ambassador programs, panels, and mentorship opportunities to foster meaningful connections with prospective students.
Understand and seek out local, regional, and national trends in admissions and Independent Schools that can support best practices at BFS.
Represent the School at open houses, school visits, and fairs, and serve as a visible, responsive presence for prospective families throughout the admissions process.
Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing teams to develop and execute creative, mission-aligned social media and outreach campaigns that engage prospective families.
Collaborate with Learning Community Leaders, teachers, and learning specialists to develop protocols for assessing students and collecting colleague feedback.
Implement screening and placement procedures to evaluate students’ alignment with the school’s mission and educational programs, with strategic oversight from divisional leadership.
Supervise at least one member of the Enrollment Management team, providing coaching, accountability, and professional development to support high performance and strategic alignment.

Qualifications and Characteristics Sought:
Bachelor’s degree required
Professional background in education – as an admissions officer, teacher, or other administrative role
Demonstrated initiative in understanding all-school dynamics and proactively responding in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with children and adults alike
Strong capacity to work independently and productively as well as to collaborate with a team of enrollment professionals
Comfort working in partnership with marketing and communications teams to craft messaging and outreach strategies that resonate with diverse audiences
Experience designing and implementing student and family programming, particularly around transition points
Demonstrated ability to engage thoughtfully and respectfully with issues of diversity, equity, and belonging in a school setting
Strong listening, speaking and writing skills
Effective organizational skills, with careful attention to accuracy, efficiency, and detail
Expertise with technology to manage online databases and spreadsheets (specific knowledge of Ravenna and Blackbaud preferred)
High standards of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to work some evenings and weekends
A sense of humor and abundant patience
Fluency in Spanish is preferred
Physical Requirements of the Job
Must be able to work in an office environment including prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to stand, bend over, twist and reach to access file cabinets, bookshelves and navigate office and workstation spaces.
Must be able to ambulate through a classroom setting, including walking up stairs.

Salary Range:$97,264-106,589
This salary range represents the expected annual salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your education level, experience, and other job-related factors.
