A. Fantis School of Saints Constantine & Helen Cathedral in Brooklyn Heights is hiring a Director of Auxiliary Programs to lead a growing team running Beyond the Bell, Break Camps, Summer Camp, and after-school Clubs. This is a leadership role. The Director shapes strategy, drives enrollment growth across all Auxiliary-program revenue streams, supervises the Program Coordinator and staff, and partners directly with the Principal and Marketing Director.
You will inherit a healthy program with strong family demand at a school consistently ranked in the top 10 of nearly 1,700 public, charter, and private schools in New York State. Your job is to build on that — expanding capacity, deepening programming quality, and making A. Fantis the destination after-school experience in Brooklyn Heights.
The Team You Will Lead
Program Coordinator (full-time, 12:00–6:00pm): Provides backup coverage, handles daily attendance and parent communications during pickup, and supports club and camp logistics.
BtB Group Leaders (7 staff, including Program Coordinator): Lead activities and supervise students across age groups.
Reporting Structure
The Director of Auxiliary Programs reports directly to the Principal.
Direct reports: Program Coordinator.
Indirect reports: 5 BtB Group Leaders
Vendor oversight: 15+ club and camp vendors annually
Schedule
Daily
10:00am – 6:00pm, Monday through Friday during the school year.
Floor presence required during BtB transition (2:00–2:30pm) and end-of-day pickup (5:30–6:00pm). Staff run operations between those windows.
Annual
Mid-July through late August: August Orientation through end of Summer Camp, plus two weeks of flexible planning days earlier in the summer.
One week of paid vacation (flexible scheduling).
10 days of PTO, unused days paid.
Off any day school is closed without break camps or staff development.
Monthly School Commitments
Parent Conferences, Curriculum Night, PTO Family Social, Staff Development Days, and other events as scheduled.
Core Responsibilities
1. Growth and Revenue
Own enrollment growth targets across Beyond the Bell, Break Camps, Summer Camp, and Clubs.
Build and execute the annual marketing and enrollment calendar in partnership with the Marketing Director (Mailchimp, Bloomz, social, website, in-school).
Develop and revise the Clubs brochure each term (Fall, Winter, Spring) — curating offerings, setting pricing, and recruiting vendors who differentiate A. Fantis from competitors.
Scout, vet, and onboard new vendors and partnerships.
Produce the monthly Beyond the Bell newsletter.
2. Programming Quality
Design the annual Beyond the Bell programming arc — themes, lessons, and activities for preschool through 8th grade.
Build the Summer Camp program: weekly themes, trips, special events, and signature experiences.
Develop break camp programming and special events throughout the year.
Set quality standards for all club and vendor programming on campus.
Lead annual professional development planning for Auxiliary-programs staff.
3. Team Leadership and HR
Hire, onboard, and develop the Program Coordinator.
Conduct annual evaluations for direct reports; provide coaching and input on Group Leader evaluations.
Hire and onboard Summer Camp staff in partnership with the program director.
Lead a weekly leadership cabinet meeting with the Program Coordinator and staff.
4. Budget and Business Operations
Draft annual Auxiliary-programs budgets for Principal and Board review.
Build per-camp budgets (Summer and Break) covering projected revenue, staffing, vendors, and supplies.
Oversee payroll approval for BtB and camp staff (Coordinator handles daily attendance and hour submission).
Manage vendor contracts, pricing structures, and payment timelines.
5. Family Communications and Community
Serve as the senior point of contact for families on Auxiliary-programs matters.
Oversee all parent-facing communications across BtB, Clubs, and Camps.
Support school-wide family events as part of the leadership team.
Serve as the school’s liaison for home basketball games, coordinating with maintenance, coaches, and student volunteers.
