Ravenscroft School is seeking a mission-driven and community-centered leader to serve as Director of Student Programming and Culture. This role strengthens the student experience across the Middle School and Upper School by cultivating spaces where belonging, identity, and leadership flourish.
The Director serves as the school’s primary architect for identity-affirming, leadership-centered, and community-building student programming. Working closely with divisional leadership, the Student Life Committee, and the Department of Community, Culture, and Belonging (CCB), this leader ensures that student programming is developmentally aligned, culturally responsive, and grounded in the belief that every student should feel seen, valued, and empowered.
This is leadership that shapes lived experience—designing systems, structures, and meaningful moments that help students connect deeply with themselves, one another, and the broader community.
Reports to: Associate Head of School for Community, Culture, and Belonging
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides leadership and guidance to student leaders and faculty sponsors
What You'll Do:
Instructional Support:
Design and implement identify-affirming, leadership-centered, and community-building student programming across the Middle School and Upper School
Support, advise, and coordinate student affinity and alliance groups, providing coaching and development for student leaders and faculty sponsors
Meet regularly with student leaders to strengthen leadership capacity, ensure integrity of programming, and support implementation of divisional student leadership initiatives
Mentor and advocate for students as they explore identity, navigate leadership roles, and contribute to school culture
Develop programming aligned with the Lead From Here Citizen Framework that cultivates cultural awareness, empathy, and cross-cultural competency
Design and facilitate leadership development experiences, including summits, retreats, workshops, and culturally focused gatherings
Collaborate with divisional Student Life leaders and committees to ensure consistency, developmental alignment, and mission coherence across programming
Partner with Divisional Leadership Teams to plan assemblies, cultural celebrations, leadership workshops, and cross-divisional initiatives
Support Ravenscroft 101 and student transition programming to ensure a welcoming and inclusive entry into the school community
Partner with Admissions and CCB to support families with significant financial needs, ensuring equitable access to programming and student experiences
Maintain strong communication with families regarding leadership opportunities, cultural programming, and identity-based initiatives
Collaborate with the Director of Dialogue and the Director of Global Programming to strengthen empathy, dialogue, and global awareness initiatives
Connect students with regional and national leadership opportunities, including independent school and diversity leadership programs
Manage student-facing communication platforms and affinity/alliance resources to ensure clarity, accessibility, and transparency
Maintain organized systems for scheduling, documentation, communication, and program evaluation
Serve as an active member of the Student Life Committee, strengthening cross-divisional alignment and mission-driven student culture
A full list of essential functions and additional details will be shared during the interview process.

Preferred:
Master's degree
Experience conducting student conduct investigations and partnering with families
Familiarity with restorative practices and community-building approaches
Experience in independent school settings
Experience partnering with regional or national student leadership organizations
Work Environment and Physical Demands
