Woodlawn School is seeking a Creative and Collaborative Thought Designer to join our Middle and Upper School teams. At Woodlawn, we believe that Science, Math, and Engineering are best learned when they are integrated, inquiry-based, and hands-on. This role is designed for a builder of ideas—someone who can bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world application.

The Role

As a Thought Designer, you will be the architect of learning experiences that challenge students to think critically and design boldly. You will play a pivotal role in our brand-new, state-of-the-art Inquiry Lab, serving as a bridge between our Middle School curiosity and our Upper School STEM excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Implement: Create and lead a dynamic curriculum spanning Math, Science, and Engineering Design that prioritizes inquiry and project-based learning.
• Collaborate: Partner with Middle and Upper School STEM faculty to ensure a cohesive and innovative "Design Thinking" vertical alignment.
• Inspire: Cultivate a classroom environment that celebrates the "keen wonderment" of our students, encouraging them to ask "Why?" and "How?"
• Innovate: Utilize our Inquiry Lab to facilitate hands-on engineering challenges, scientific experimentation, and mathematical modeling.

Qualifications

• A degree in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and inquiry-based instruction.
• Proficiency in utilizing lab spaces and maker-technologies to enhance student learning.
• Exceptional communication skills and a desire to contribute to a vibrant school culture.
