The School Nurse is a compassionate professional with credentials and experience that demonstrates one's ability to serve adolescent populations in a boarding/residential setting. This professional oversees and manages the Health Center. Position Type/Salary: Full-time/$55,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal health regulations.
- Provide nursing care, assessments, and first aid for students.
- Monitor clinic supplies and maintain a clean, organized environment.
- Administer daily and PRN medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Manage student health records, immunizations, and Magnus Health documentation.
- Communicate with parents and healthcare providers as needed.
- Coordinate and ensure transportation for students to and from medical appointments.
- Attend on campus athletic events and serve as health care respondent as needed.
- Support health education and wellness programming for students and staff.
- Respond to health emergencies and implement appropriate procedures.
- Serve as an advisor for 3-5 students.
- Contribute to our residential life programming. (This position may include campus housing for a full-time person.)
- Serve on weekend and weekday duty teams.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland (required)
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience in adolescent health, pediatrics, or school nursing (required)
- Boarding or residential school experience would be beneficial, but not required
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Familiarity with Magnus Health or other electronic health record systems preferred
