Summary:
The Oak Hill School seeks a creative and collaborative teacher for prekindergarten through sixth-grade students.
Job-Related Responsibilities:
Introduce students to the joys and beauty of this subject area or grade level
Use a variety of methods to assess student learning and to inform instruction
Provide differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of students
Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development
Expand our students’ knowledge and appreciation of global cultures
Ignite a love of language in our students for enjoyment, enrichment, and advancement.
Specific Job-Related Responsibilities:
Teach 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade Music Classes
Teach 5th and 6th Grade Choir Classes
Collaborate and work with LS Music Teacher, Drama Teacher, and Ensemble Teachers when working on performances and services
Collaborate and work with Ensemble Teachers, meeting regularly to plan together.
Co-teach Acting Up (Musical Elective) with Drama and LS Music Teacher
Organize and coordinate Performing Arts performances throughout the year (ex. Christmas Coffee, Arts a la Carte, Grandparents Day)
Lead Flag Raising songs every morning
Lead Songs and Organize Music at Thanksgiving, Advent, Lent, and Chapel Services
Collaborate with the Drama teacher for the Spring Musical
Co-advisor for Upper School advisory
Arrival, Dismissal, and Lunch Duties as assigned
Professional Responsibilities:

Communicate clearly, promptly, and professionally with students, parents, coworkers, and administrators
Learn and implement best instructional practices by actively taking part in professional development opportunities
Actively participate as a member of the enrichment/grade level team

Educational Background and Work Experience:
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in relevant subject area, OR a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Education
