Summary:
The Oak Hill School seeks a creative and collaborative teacher for prekindergarten through sixth-grade students.
Job-Related Responsibilities:
- Introduce students to the joys and beauty of this subject area or grade level
- Use a variety of methods to assess student learning and to inform instruction
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of students
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development
- Expand our students’ knowledge and appreciation of global cultures
- Ignite a love of language in our students for enjoyment, enrichment, and advancement.
Specific Job-Related Responsibilities:
- Teach 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade Music Classes
- Teach 5th and 6th Grade Choir Classes
- Collaborate and work with LS Music Teacher, Drama Teacher, and Ensemble Teachers when working on performances and services
- Collaborate and work with Ensemble Teachers, meeting regularly to plan together.
- Co-teach Acting Up (Musical Elective) with Drama and LS Music Teacher
- Organize and coordinate Performing Arts performances throughout the year (ex. Christmas Coffee, Arts a la Carte, Grandparents Day)
- Lead Flag Raising songs every morning
- Lead Songs and Organize Music at Thanksgiving, Advent, Lent, and Chapel Services
- Collaborate with the Drama teacher for the Spring Musical
- Co-advisor for Upper School advisory
- Arrival, Dismissal, and Lunch Duties as assigned

- Learn and implement best instructional practices by actively taking part in professional development opportunities
- Actively participate as a member of the enrichment/grade level team
- Be a positive advocate of the school, both internally and externally

Educational Background and Work Experience:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in relevant subject area, OR a Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Education
