Our Mission: NCCL School provides a rich academic and cultural foundation that nurtures the joy of discovery in every child and fosters curious, creative, and critical thinkers.
NCCL School is a progressive, student-driven K–8 school seeking an innovative, collaborative K–1 educator to join our teaching team. We believe strong literacy skills are the gateway to student agency. Explicit phonics instruction, joyful reading experiences, and meaningful writing opportunities work together to help children become confident, independent learners. This role includes teaching early literacy instruction grounded in a strong phonics-based approach and supporting students in building foundational reading skills that allow them to access deeper inquiry, research, and creative expression. The teacher will also co-teach writing, social studies, and science within an integrated curriculum.
We are looking for an educator who values children’s social and emotional growth as deeply as their academic development. The ideal candidate sees teaching as both a craft and a meaningful role within a broader community. Strong communication skills, a deep understanding of child development, and a commitment to culturally responsive practice are essential.
At NCCL, teachers design engaging, inquiry-driven experiences that reflect the diversity of our students and encourage curiosity, collaboration, and real-world exploration.
