Lower School Curriculum and Instruction Specialist
Trinity Valley School | Fort Worth, Texas
About This Opportunity
Trinity Valley School is creating a new role—our first Lower School Director of Curriculum and Instruction—to serve 350 PreK- 4 students and support 40 faculty members who are committed to excellence and continuous growth.
Who You Are
You are an experienced elementary educator with a master's degree in Elementary Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field, and at least five years of diverse classroom teaching experience. You love working with lower school aged children and place students at the heart of your instructional practice. You have a strong understanding of assessment practices and data-driven instruction, and you bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to build trust and inspire collaboration. Ideally, you have experience in curriculum development, professional learning facilitation, and familiarity with current educational research and evidence-based instructional practices.
Beyond your credentials, you are an instructional leader who knows what excellent teaching looks like. You see the big picture, especially as it relates to the student experience across grade levels. You are a relationship builder who creates the kind of trust that allows teachers to share openly, reflect honestly, and grow. You have a collaborative mindset and believe the best ideas come from working together. Your organizational excellence allows you to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and keep complex initiatives moving forward. You thrive in dynamic environments, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability when circumstances change. You model reflective practice and help others see challenges as opportunities.
The TVS Lower School Team
The TVS Lower School provides a nurturing educational experience that meets the unique social, emotional, and cognitive needs of young learners while fostering creative problem solving, innovative thinking, and community connection. Our teachers ignite curiosity, unlock creativity, and foster a love of learning—ensuring every student is known, loved, and valued. We build a foundation of confidence, empathy, independence, and leadership that supports our students not only in the classroom, but in life.
This work is driven by one powerful purpose: our students. The Lower School faculty is a team united by that shared commitment, and it's what makes this work so deeply rewarding. Joy here is contagious and palpable—laughter spills out of classrooms, excitement fills moments of discovery, and we delight in our students' growth every single day. That energy fuels us and points us back to our purpose.
We're looking for a teammate who wants to be an invested part of the TVS community—someone who brings warmth and positivity to their everyday interactions, who finds joy and inspiration in collaboration, and who is always willing to lend a hand.
Your Impact
In this inaugural role, you'll have the opportunity to inform the academic experience for our youngest learners. You'll lead the design, implementation, and continuous refinement of a comprehensive PreK-4 curriculum that promotes fine scholarship, intellectual curiosity, and alignment with Trinity Valley School's mission. Your initial focus will be on literacy—updating curriculum resources and creating vertical alignment across PreK-4—but your impact will extend across all disciplines and grade levels as you review current curriculum and instructional practices and lead cross-curricular initiatives.
You'll serve as a thought partner, modeling and aligning effective instructional strategies for whole group and small group instruction across grade levels and disciplines. Through co-teaching with classroom teachers, you'll support the implementation of new instructional strategies, content, and materials, and help teachers implement data-based differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all learners. You will oversee assessment tools and protocols that measure student growth and learning outcomes, leading faculty in analyzing and understanding student performance data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for instructional focus.
As a professional learning leader, you'll design and facilitate professional development experiences that support teacher growth and instructional excellence, connecting faculty to external opportunities for continued learning and collaboration as well. You'll cultivate a community of practice where teachers feel supported, challenged, and inspired, fostering a culture of continuous improvement grounded in evidence and reflective practice. Throughout all of this work, you'll stay current with educational research, innovation, and best practices in elementary curriculum and instruction, helping shape the next chapter of a Lower School that's committed to knowing every child, nurturing their curiosity, and preparing them for lives of purpose and integrity.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to lead from behind a desk—you'll be a visible, collaborative presence in classrooms and faculty meetings, co-teaching with teachers, modeling effective strategies, and building the kind of trusting relationships that make transformational work possible. You'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in how young learners experience school at TVS, collaborating with talented colleagues who care deeply about their craft.
