First Baptist Academy, serving infants through eighth grade, is seeking a Lower School Bible Teacher to serve students in bridge kindergarten through fourth grade by cultivating a vibrant, Christ-centered learning environment that nurtures spiritual growth, biblical literacy, and character formation. FBA teachers exemplify specific characteristics of professionalism to support FBA’s vision, mission, core values, and strategic goals. The position reports to the lower school principal.

Key Responsibilities:
Creative Empowerment –Create classroom learning environments that foster a secure and supportive atmosphere, encouraging students to embrace challenges, redefine failure, and advocate for themselves. Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate Bible lessons that bring Scripture to life through discussion and creative expression (storytelling, drama, music, art, hands-on activities) and inspire students to apply biblical truths in meaningful, practical ways.
Comprehensive Personalization – Provide diverse learning opportunities tailored to the unique strengths, interests, and challenges of the students. Recognize and support diverse learning styles, spiritual backgrounds, and developmental stages. Differentiate instruction to meet the academic, emotional, and spiritual needs of each student.
Collective Collaboration –Engage in collective efforts with team members to attain shared goals for the benefit of the students, especially to integrate biblical principles across the curriculum. Partner with parents to support each child’s spiritual journey and communicate progress effectively.
Supportive Guidance – Assist students in recognizing their talents and guiding them in utilizing these gifts to serve others and discover God’s desired path for their lives. Guide students in developing habits of prayer, worship, service, and biblical decision-making. Collaborate with the Dean of Spiritual Life on leading the weekly Lower School Chapel service.
Continuous Professional Growth – Pursue professional development opportunities to incorporate Christian education and optimal teaching methodologies in our classrooms. Actively engage in spiritual growth through personal Bible study, church involvement, and professional learning communities.
Required Qualifications:
Faithful Integrity – Model Biblical values, principles, and desired behaviors for student guidance while demonstrating a desire to work in a Christian environment. Serve as a Christ-centered role model for students, families, and colleagues both inside and outside the classroom..
Moral and Ethical Standards – Uphold high moral and ethical standards within the classroom and greater school community. Demonstrate wisdom, discernment, and fairness in student discipline and parent communication.
Servant Heart – Demonstrate humility, servant leadership, and a willingness to serve others in a Christ-like manner. Show patience, grace, and a nurturing spirit in guiding students’ academic and spiritual development.
Bachelor’s degree in Christian/biblical studies or related field from an accredited school. Master’s in theological studies is preferred.
TEA or ACSI teacher certification
At least two years of full-time teaching experience.
