Compensation: The compensation for this position would be pro-rated based on an annual salary range of $50,000-$100,000 depending on teaching experience. Final compensation will be determined based on teaching experience, and as part-year employee this position is eligible for part-time employee benefits.

Description:
Primary responsibilities for this position include teaching and advising students in the content areas of Mathematics, Language Arts, and Social Studies. Classroom teachers participate in all required school meetings, activities, and Primary School community responsibilities and duties. Classroom teachers work collaboratively with their grade-level team members, the Student Support Team, and students' families to forge strong partnerships in student learning.
Reports to: Head of Primary School
Contract: August 2026-February 2027
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's / Master's degree in Education or a related field
A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the elementary level
Experience teaching reading, phonics, writing, social studies, and mathematics at the elementary level
Experience with the following curricular and social-emotional learning frameworks: Workshop model for reading and writing, explicit phonics instruction, and Responsive Classroom
Understand technology integration practices and the use of digital tools to enhance teaching and learning, for example, the use of iPads for learning and assessment
Skills:
Practical knowledge of child development and early childhood/elementary education pedagogy
Strong interest and proficiency in planning and implementing a child-centered, hands-on curriculum using varied modalities and materials that meet student needs and interests
Knowledge of how to assess students’ progress and growth over time, how to communicate this growth to parents, and how to use formal and informal assessment data to help inform a child's next steps for growth
Application of effective, supportive strategies for classroom management
Commitment to a welcoming, inclusive learning environment for all students
Interest in the development and implementation of a multicultural curriculum that includes diversity, inclusion, and social justice lenses
Awareness of different learning styles and experience differentiating instruction for students in one classroom
Ability and desire to establish a strong rapport with students and engage classes in developmentally appropriate lessons using various modalities and materials
Desire and ability to work as a member of collaborative teams
Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including communicating effectively in writing
Candidates should possess outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; the willingness and flexibility to work as a member of a collaborative team; love of learning; and the ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction. Candidates should be willing to work as a collaborative member of the department and to teach a range of classes according to the needs of the department.
