Punahou School is currently recruiting a Part Time Temporary Math faculty member. Faculty members are responsible for designing and delivering effective classroom instruction; attending regular conferences with colleagues; and meeting with students during office hours to provide extra support. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt to diverse classroom environments; be capable of the smooth delivery of ongoing instructional programs; and thrive in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. Position Details:

• Work Year: 9 Months
• School Year: 2026-2027
• Work Hours: Variable schedule: Monday – Friday, between 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, schedule may vary based on operational needs and part time status
• Faculty Salary Range*: $59,790 - $120,828 - Compensation commensurate with qualifications, Salary will be prorated based on actual FTE

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Mathematics or related field. 
• Thorough knowledge of content including through at least high school Pre-Calculus.
• Demonstrated familiarity with curriculum, teaching methods and assessment frameworks in the subjects and age ranges; and age-related expectations of students.
• Ability to administer and interpret a variety of assessments.
• Working familiarity with assistive technologies, Internet and Email systems, word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Familiarity with computers (Apple) and their use in instruction to enhance student learning.
• Working knowledge of various office and video equipment.
• Knowledge of educational software.
• The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three (3) years of experience working in a high school setting.
• Experience with teaching Pre-Calculus, AP Statistics, Differential Calculus and/or AP Calculus AB courses.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds; an understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents and sensitivity to each individual student’s needs; the ability to appreciate the variety of perspectives offered by all members of the community
