Parish Episcopal School seeks an innovative and nurturing Strength & Conditioning Teacher & Coach to join a dedicated team. This is a full-time 12-month position reporting to the Athletic Director. The Strength and Conditioning Coach will be responsible for working with the head coaches in developing and implementing sport specific training and conditioning programs for both in-season and out-of-season student-athletes. This position will require the instruction of academic courses throughout the day in Middle and Upper School. The Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for maintaining the facility, and for establishing policies, plans, and procedures for safety.
Essential Functions:

Design and implement policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program in accordance with the NSCA Strength and Conditioning Professional Standards Guidelines.
Work in collaboration with program head coaches on scheduling, development, and implementation of specific workout programs for all specific teams and individuals.
Work in collaboration with Middle and Upper School Administration in the implementation of courses.
Provide athletes with proper training techniques for free weights and other equipment.
Be responsible for identifying equipment repairs, modifications and recommendations for purchases to maintain and improve all training facilities.
Maintain up-to-date records on strength programs for each team and the specific individual workouts of every student-athlete while maintaining frequent communication with coaches as needed.
Work in cooperation with the athletic trainers in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured student-athletes.
Must have the ability to establish healthy professional relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and colleagues.
Possess strong motivational and disciplinary abilities.
Maintain professional credentials as required by Independent Schools Association of the Southwest (ISAS) or other accrediting agencies.
The use of technology in instruction is an expectation as well as being able to provide a basic level of support to students in a BYOD environment. Additionally, candidates should be proficient in utilizing technology for administrative functions including, but not limited to, grading, attendance, resource sharing, and communications.
Demonstrates dependability through consistent attendance, punctual arrival, and readiness to perform assigned duties according to the established work schedule.
Perform assigned duties such as carpool, study hall, and lunch duties.
Training and Marginal Duties:
Participate in all requisite School trainings.
Attend required staff development, training sessions, and conferences throughout the year.
Attend periodic in-service meetings.
Attend Chapel.
Attend Department & Team Meetings.
Attend school events such as Upper School Night, Admission Open House, Fieldtrips/Class Trips.
Ability to periodically support before and after-school or weekend events.
Acknowledge receipt of the current Employee Handbook and are responsible for reviewing the contents and abiding by rules, policies and procedures stated in the Handbook or otherwise by the School.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Regularly works in standard office or classroom conditions and climate.
Regularly uses close and distance vision, including working at a computer screen. for extended periods of time; ability to observe students from various distances.
Frequently required to move around the campus/office/classroom; works at a desk for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, carry, move items weighing up to 75lbs.
Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with students, fellow staff and community members.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Physical Education.
Weight training certification and a minimum of three years strength training preferred.
National Strength Coaches Association's CSCS certification (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association's SCCC certification (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification) or equivalency required.
Strong communication skills, a sense of humor, humility, and empathy.
Able to set clear, achievable goals and respond constructively to professional feedback; demonstrates a commitment to ongoing growth, reflection, and continuous improvement in practice.
Ability to interact with parents, faculty and staff, and handle confidential material and situations with discretion and sensitivity.
A team player with strong interpersonal skills to productively, professionally and empathetically communicate with students, parents, the entire school community and wide variety of school constituents.
Classroom management skills and adherence to school policies.
Commitment to positive and active participation in the life of the school.
Ability to meet physical and mental requirements of the position.
