Upper School Physics Teacher

Who You Are

The Science Department at The Episcopal Academy seeks an Upper School Physics teacher to join its vibrant 18-member department. This educator will primarily teach Physics and related courses; the ability to teach Chemistry, Environmental Science, and/or Biology will strengthen a candidate's application.

The department values collaborative educators eager to contribute to an evolving approach to science instruction. This is an exciting moment in the department's development, with a newly revised and evolving curriculum, expanding investment in environmental science, and emerging industry and community partnerships.

What You Will Do

Faculty at The Episcopal Academy contribute broadly to the life of the school. Responsibilities include:

• Teaching four sections of lab-based upper school science, with an emphasis on Physics, including AP Physics C
• Advising a small group of upper school students
• Participating actively in the life of the school through advising, coaching, and/or supervising activities

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues
• Enthusiasm for a student-centered, experiential, guided inquiry-based, and lab-intensive approach to science teaching
• Openness to varied assessment strategies that emphasize application of knowledge and student growth
• Experience developing science curriculum and lesson plans that reflect diverse perspectives and voices
• Willingness to learn Canvas, Google Workspace, and other science-specific instructional tools
• Robotics experience is considered an asset
