OVERVIEW
Founded in 1950, Greenhill School is an independent, coeducational day school with more than 1,400 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12. The school is located on a 78-acre campus approximately 12 miles north of downtown Dallas.

SUMMARY
The Director of Summer Programs is a strategic, mission-driven leader who sets the vision and leads the development and execution of a high-quality summer program that delivers exceptional student experiences. This role oversees all phases of programming, from vision and program design to execution, evaluation, and long-term growth. This individual will work collaboratively across departments to ensure an exceptional experience for students, families, and community partners.
This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position. Some evening and weekend work is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Strategy and Development:
Develop and lead all summer programs, including academic, enrichment, and athletic offerings.
Partner with faculty, staff, and external vendors to design fun and innovative programs that reflect the school’s mission, values, and standards of excellence.
Lead post seasonprogram assessments to effectively evaluate camp programming.
Operations and Program Execution:
Establish and maintain operational systems, workflows, and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, school policies, and expectations.
Lead operational planning and coordination, including scheduling, logistics, staffing, and facility utilization to optimize efficiency and program execution.
Conduct regular campus walkthroughs to monitor program quality, safety, and facility use.
Leadership and Team Management:
Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing summer team.
Lead onboarding and training processes to ensure consistency and preparedness.
Foster a collaborative, positive, and student-focused team culture.
Implement systems for staff, students, and family feedback to provide continuous improvement.
Financial & Business Management:
Develop and manage the summer program budget, including revenue forecasting, expenses, and long-term financial planning.
Monitor financial performance and adjust strategies to meet growth targets.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency.
Partner with the Business Office to process bi-weekly payroll.
Prepare post-season financial and program performance reports.
Student Experience and Engagement:
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students.
Address student and parent concerns with professionalism, responsiveness, and care.
Oversee special events and experiences that enhance program value.
Build strong relationships with families, faculty, and community partners.
Marketing & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop program catalogs, campaigns, and digital content.
Collaborate with key internal teams, including Dining Services, Security, Business Office, and Facilities, to support smooth and effective program execution.
Communicate schedules, logistics, and updates to all stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree required.
5-10 years of experience in program management, camps, auxiliary programs, or a related field, preferably in a non-profit or education setting.
Demonstrated experience in budget management, operations, and team leadership.
Certified in First Aid/CPR/AED or ability to obtain.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CampBrain and Blackbaud preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Ability to move throughout campus and remain active for extended periods of time.
Ability to push, pull, and lift upto 25 lbs. as needed.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including summer heat.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required during peak program periods.
Exposure to wildlife (peacocks, hawks, other wildlife)
