Position Summary
Calvary Christian School is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and faith-driven Middle School Science Teacher to lead our 7th and 8th grade science program. The ideal candidate is passionate about science education, skilled in classroom management, and committed to integrating a Christian worldview into academic instruction.
This position plays a key role in preparing students academically and spiritually during their critical middle school years.
Primary Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
Teach 7th and 8th grade science courses (introductory biology, chemistry and physics depending on curriculum alignment).
Develop and implement engaging, hands-on lessons that promote inquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking.
Incorporate lab experiences that emphasize scientific method and problem-solving.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback.
Maintain accurate grade records and communicate academic progress to families.
Faith Integration
Integrate biblical principles into science instruction in age-appropriate and thoughtful ways.
Encourage students to explore the relationship between faith and scientific discovery.
Model Christ-centered leadership and character in and out of the classroom.
Classroom Leadership
Establish and maintain clear behavioral expectations aligned with the school’s values.
Create a structured, engaging, and safe learning environment.
Build positive relationships with students that promote accountability and growth.
Partner with parents in supporting student success.
Collaboration & Community
Collaborate with middle school faculty to ensure curricular alignment and student support.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.
Support middle school initiatives, including outdoor education trips, sporting events, and student activities.
Contribute to the broader life of the school community.
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Science Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Valid teaching credential (preferred but not required depending on experience).
Experience teaching middle school students.
Strong classroom management skills.
Commitment to Christian education and agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith.
Ability to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for science.
