Athletic Director
St. Francis School seeks an Athletic Director to lead a mission-aligned, developmentally appropriate athletics program that strengthens student belonging, character, and lifelong wellness while also supporting competitive growth and school spirit for the 26-27 school year. The Athletic Director is a visible community leader who balances strategy and culture-building with strong execution across logistics, scheduling, facilities, staffing, and communication.

- Advance a program where every student can belong in athletics—from first-time players to highly competitive athletes.
- Develop and mentor coaches to ensure consistent, positive team culture and strong teaching through sport.
- Strengthen systems that make athletics run smoothly—scheduling, game-day operations, facilities coordination, and proactive family communication.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Culture
- Articulate and lead a clear vision for Wolfpack athletics aligned with the school’s mission and values; set expectations for sportsmanship, community conduct, and student experience.
- Be an active, visible presence at practices and games; serve as an ambassador for the school and program in the broader community.
Coach Recruitment, Development & Accountability
- Recruit, onboard, support, and evaluate coaches; establish shared standards for practice planning, player development, team culture, and family communication.
- Create systems for coach growth (season kickoffs, observations, feedback, and reflection) that help the program improve year over year.
Operations, Scheduling & Event Management
- Oversee the athletics calendar and daily logistics, including practice schedules, facility usage, officials, transportation, and game-day operations.
- Ensure timely, thoughtful, and responsive communication with families and internal partners.
Facilities, Equipment & Budget
- Manage athletics inventory, uniforms, equipment ordering, and storage; steward program resources with clarity and consistency.
- Partner with school operations/facilities to support safe, well-maintained spaces for practices and contests.
League & School Partnership
- Represent St. Francis with league peers; ensure compliance with league expectations and promote strong interschool relationships.
- Collaborate with division leaders and student support teams to ensure the athletics experience supports the whole child.

- Demonstrated success leading athletics programs, including complex scheduling/logistics, facilities coordination, and staff development.
- Strong record of coaching leadership—able to mentor adults, set standards, and build consistent culture across teams.
