About our School: Since 1963, The Brownstone School has welcomed children and families into a nurturing community. Our warm and inspiring educators encourage children to explore, experiment, collaborate and create through guided and self-directed play. Our school fosters the social, emotional and educational skills essential for a joyful approach to learning. 

Responsibilities:

• Provides for the safety and well-being of all students at all times
• Works collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents
• Participates in the planning and implementation of curriculum using the emergent curriculum philosophy
• Works within the framework of the program to carry out its functions, policies, and procedures
• Observes, monitors, and documents student behavior and growth; assists Head Teacher in compiling bi-annual conference reports
• Develops and maintains sound parent relationships; is responsive to parent’s questions and concerns; respects the confidential nature of all information regarding children and parents.
• Participates in self-evaluation process; identifies areas for professional growth and improvement
• Is aware of and familiar with emergency protocols and all DOHMH guidelines
• Responsible for keeping classroom equipment and materials tidy
• Attends all scheduled faculty meetings and other school events as outlined in Letter of Hire

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Must be fully vaccinated according to the DOH guidelines
• Must fill out a background check application as mandated by the DOH, including fingerprints through Identgo.
• Educational philosophy aligns with the mission and vision of The Brownstone School
• Must be able to carry 25-30 pounds, sit in smaller chairs, and move from a standing to sitting position, and back again, comfortably.  

Salary Range: $42,000-$45,000
