The Children’s School is currently seeking a middle school humanities and eighth grade advisor teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching humanities, history or English in an independent school, a demonstrated interest in the intellectual, emotional and social development of children, and experience guiding eighth grade students through the high school admissions process. A bachelor's degree in history or English is required, a masters' preferred. All candidates will need to comply with the requirements of SB848. Job duties include:
Teaching two sections of middle school humanities
Collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary curriculum development
Collaborating with the school leadership
Frequent communication with middle school families
Willingness to engage in professional growth
Serving as an eighth-grade advisor
Overseeing eighth-grade capstone projects
Chaperoning the overnight seventh and eighth grade trip
Guiding eighth grade students through all aspects of the high school admissions process
Developing relationships with the local high school admissions officers
