University High School of Indiana seeks an Assistant Athletic Director to join our staff for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for athletics and wellness at the high school level, a desire to collaborate with other members of the faculty and staff, and a willingness to be involved at University beyond the classroom.
The Assistant Athletic Director reports to the Director of Athletics, who is responsible for the overall direction and delivery of University’s 17-sport inclusive athletic program that serves approximately 300 athletes per year. Specific duties for this position include developing, implementing, and evaluating athletic programs, activities, and events and making effective recommendations related to those areas; assisting in all aspects of departmental operations, including logistics, risk management, and IHSAA compliance; communicating on behalf of the school and athletic department on a variety of platforms (websites, social media, etc.); and building relationships with a variety of school constituents. Additionally, faculty and staff at University High School serve as mentors to students in the school-wide mentoring program. This position is not eligible for remote work.
This is a salaried, full-time, on-campus staff position that includes the school’s full benefits package. Evening and weekend hours are required for specific events.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; minimum two years coaching experience required
Experience in athletic or sports management, particularly in a school setting, preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Interest in being an active member of the school community beyond athletics, attending school functions, participating in January Term classes, and serving as a mentor to students
Commitment to the school’s core values of diversity, excellence, personal responsibility, stewardship, creativity, and mutual respect, support, and trust
Facility with technology required
Background check and current authorization to be employed in the U.S. required
Must be at least 25 years of age, able to lift 25 pounds, and able to drive 15 passenger vans
