The Middle School Coordinator at Knox School is a key academic and student life leader responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation, culture, and program of the Middle School (grades 6–8). This role ensures a cohesive and developmentally appropriate experience for students, working closely with faculty, students, and families to foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment aligned with the School’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership & Program Coordination

• Oversee the implementation and coordination of the Middle School academic program
• Collaborate with faculty to ensure curriculum alignment, consistency, and innovation
• Support faculty in instructional practices and classroom management
• Monitor student academic progress and coordinate interventions when needed

Student Life & Well-Being

• Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful Middle School culture
• Support students’ social-emotional development in alignment with Knox’s values
• Address student concerns, behavioral matters, and conflict resolution in a restorative and developmentally appropriate manner

Communication & Community Engagement

• Serve as a primary point of contact for Middle School students and families
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and school initiatives
• Collaborate with faculty, advisors, and support staff to ensure consistent communication

Operations & Events

• Coordinate scheduling, transitions, and daily operations of the Middle School
• Assist in planning and overseeing Middle School events, trips, and special programs
• Partner with admissions and advancement teams as needed to represent the Middle School

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education or related field preferred
• Experience working with middle school-aged students
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and student-center
