Position Summary
The STEAM/Innovation Educator will be a creative, forward-thinking teacher committed to project-based, student-centered learning. This role blends classroom instruction, curriculum development, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to integrate STEAM skills into meaningful learning experiences. The educator will guide students in scientific inquiry, design thinking, coding, robotics, and hands-on innovation, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and resilience.
The ideal candidate is passionate about STEM education, skilled at differentiating instruction, and excited to engage students in authentic problem-solving. They will also support the broader school mission by integrating technology thoughtfully across disciplines and helping shape the Lower School’s innovative programming.
Objectives
Deliver tech-enabled, hands-on, project-based STEAM curriculum aligned with best instructional practices.
Guide student exploration and scientific inquiry through NGSS-aligned lessons.
Embed STEAM, digital literacy, and design thinking authentically across classroom experiences.
Foster creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and independent problem-solving.
Support teachers in integrating technology and innovation throughout the Lower School curriculum.
Promote responsible, ethical, and developmentally appropriate use of technology.
Contribute to the ongoing growth of the Innovation Team and school-wide STEAM initiatives.
Responsibilities
Teach and further develop curriculum in science, computer science, coding, digital fabrication, digital literacy, electronics, and robotics.
Guide students through hands-on projects using the Design Thinking process from ideation to prototype.
Foster scientific thinking and curiosity in alignment with Common Core and NGSS standards.
Collaborate with Lower School faculty to integrate STEAM and innovation across subject areas.
Provide support and professional development related to technology integration and project-based learning.
Identify educational technology needs, barriers, and solutions for students and staff.
Assist with technology-related programming and school-wide innovation activities.
Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages exploration and collaboration.
Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in STEAM, education, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching STEAM, computer science, or elementary/middle school Science.
Knowledge of coding, digital fabrication, robotics, or related STEAM disciplines.
Ability to integrate technology meaningfully into authentic learning experiences.
Enthusiasm for lifelong learning and staying current with emerging technology and educational research.
Salary Range: $65,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience and education.
