Oldfields School in Sparks Glencoe, Maryland is an international all-girls boarding and day school, grades 8-12, established in 1867. We are seeking an experienced Technology Manager to meet the technology needs of the students, faculty and staff and would teach technology-related topics to the students. The Technology Manager will work with Faculty and Staff to set and enforce appropriate policies related to cyber security and the use of technology on campus. The Technology Manager leads the planning and implementation of systems, programs, and curriculum that will carry the School's technology into the future. This position acts as the main point of contact for all technology equipment, projects, and information system needs.
The Technology Manager serves as the Network Manager and engineers, implements, monitors, maintains, and administers computers, servers, and network infrastructure across the Oldfields campus. This includes researching and implementing best practices and analyzing risk relating to technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Support campus and classroom technologies and network.
Implement and rigorously monitor network security.
Oversee technology-related contracts with outside vendors.
Maintain current inventory of School-wide hardware and software; ensure software and service contracts on said equipment are properly licensed and licensing records are maintained.
Administer user network accounts and provide support for administrators, faculty, staff, and students (Oldfields is a Google Workspace campus).
Implement all standards, policies, and procedures for students and faculty use of technology, including the Oldfields Technology Acceptable Use Policy.
Teach at least two classes in technology-related topics, such as digital citizenship, computer science, web development and/or cyber security.
Provide basic cyber security awareness training for faculty, staff and students.
Research and manage potential eligibility technology grants for the School.
Other Required Duties:
Faculty members who receive residential housing and board are required to provide periodic dorm supervision, weekend duty and other duties pertinent to boarding school needs.
Faculty members who live off campus are required to provide monthly support for weekend activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in education or a Technology-related field.
Extensive working knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and related technologies.
Experience working with middle or high school students in an educational setting.
Experience troubleshooting and using Windows, Mac OS, and Windows Server operating systems.
Experience managing technology infrastructures including networking equipment and firewalls.
Experience explaining technology to non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with independent schools (residential boarding experience preferred).
