Bullis School seeks a dedicated and dynamic Director of Boys Lacrosse for the upcoming school year. Bullis is home to one of the most prestigious high school lacrosse programs in the country. This expanded role goes beyond head coaching to encompass full strategic leadership of the Bullis lacrosse program from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Lacrosse Director will shape the identity, culture, and competitive trajectory of the program for years to come, with the full backing of school leadership. As Head Coach of the varsity team, this position will lead and continue advancing a nationally recognized program that emphasizes elite player development, competitive success, and the intentional cultivation of a strong, values-driven team culture. This includes creating an environment of accountability, trust, and connection where student-athletes thrive both on and off the field. Responsibilities include coaching, game strategy and analysis, recruiting and player development, staff management, and ensuring compliance with IAC league standards.

Essential Functions

• Design and implement all aspects of the program for grades 6–12, including practice planning, game preparation, and skill development
• Lead the Bullis Lacrosse program K–12 as Lacrosse Director, developing a unified vision and culture across varsity, JV, and middle school levels
• Build and oversee a comprehensive feeder and player development program designed to create a pipeline of skilled, committed student-athletes from the earliest grades through varsity
• Select, hire, and manage all coaching staffs across varsity, JV, and middle school programs
• Develop and implement a cohesive development curriculum across all program levels to ensure consistency, growth, and long-term success
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with DMV-area club lacrosse programs to attract elite families and players to the Bullis community
• Serve as the primary college recruiting contact for all student-athletes and their families, helping each player identify and pursue the best-fit college opportunity
• Support communication with student-athletes regarding weekly schedules, early dismissals, and academic responsibilities
• Conduct all required coaching meetings before, during, and after the season
• Manage program equipment, uniforms, and facility usage to ensure organization, cleanliness, and readiness
• Maintain consistent communication with the Director of Athletics, providing feedback and recommendations for program improvement

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree
• Deep understanding of the sport, with a focus on skill development and strategic gameplay
• Significant coaching experience at the collegiate level or within a high-level high school program
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Established or demonstrable ability to build relationships with DMV club programs and the broader lacrosse community
• Experience serving as a college recruiting resource for student-athletes and families
• CPR/First Aid and concussion training certification (or willingness to obtain)
