At Concord Hill School, we value and cultivate children’s curiosity in the early years of development. Through a dynamic program rooted in nurturing relationships, we inspire the personal and academic growth of a community of lifelong learners. Since 1965, our mission has guided us in fostering a vibrant environment where students discover their strengths, embrace challenges, and thrive as individuals.
Our core values, care, connection, curiosity, and courage, are at the heart of all we do, shaping our program and creating a joyful, inclusive community. As part of our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and care (DEIC), we foster a school culture that values each individual’s unique identity and actively engages in anti-bias education.
Position Summary
We are seeking a warm, reflective, and collaborative Early Childhood/Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood team for the 2026-2027 school year. Concord Hill’s Preprimary and Primary program follows an emergent curriculum that is inquiry-driven, grounded in play, and values the work of children.
Our classrooms are joyful, relationship-centered environments where children are encouraged to wonder, investigate, collaborate, and take meaningful risks in their learning. We believe young children learn best through hands-on experiences, authentic exploration, and responsive teaching that honors children’s natural curiosity and emerging ideas. Teachers carefully observe and listen to children in order to scaffold learning, support individual growth, and co-construct meaningful learning experiences.
At Concord Hill, project work grows from children’s play, questions, and wonderings and unfolds over days and weeks through intentional learning arcs. Teachers extend children’s thinking through learning circles, shared investigations, experiments, authentic experiences, and thoughtfully connected classroom centers that deepen exploration and move the work forward. The ideal candidate understands the importance of play as a vehicle for social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development and creates engaging, thoughtfully curated experiences that inspire creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and joyful engagement. Through collaborative inquiry, children build knowledge together, develop vocabulary and conceptual understanding, revisit and refine ideas, and grow as confident, curious learners who can communicate their thinking and discoveries with others.
Working closely with colleagues and families, the teacher will help foster a classroom culture rooted in care, connection, curiosity, and courage. As a member of our faculty, you’ll actively participate in professional growth opportunities, collaborate with colleagues across grade levels, and contribute to the ongoing development of our early childhood program.
