IMS has an immediate opening for a part-time Athletic Trainer to provide game day and practice coverage beginning this fall. Games are typically on Wednesday and Friday afternoons ranging from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, but may involve a Saturday. Practices are between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Athletic Trainer Responsibilities:

• Provide immediate care during times of physical activity, including being present at interscholastic events
• Responsible for evaluation and emergency care of sports related injuries, concussion protocols, injury prevention and rehabilitation
• Maintain communication with the Athletic Director regarding athlete injury status 
• Provide respectful communication, following all HIPAA regulations and guidelines on student health matters between coaches, parents and health care providers
• Maintain complete and accurate records and pertinent medical data

Experience:

• 1-3 years’ experience working as a certified athletic trainer preferred
• Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting is preferred

Education/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• NATA-BOC certification and CT state license from DPH
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certified
