The Dalton School seeks a full-time team professional to join a dynamic Advancement Office starting July 1, 2026. The Advancement Associate will provide proactive and effective administrative support to the Chief Advancement Officer and the Advancement team. The individual should have an understanding of, and appreciation for, The Dalton School’s mission, enjoy multitasking, and have the talent and ability to successfully work with colleagues. Additional responsibilities outside the Advancement team include managing Dalton’s Driver’s Ed program. This position is 100% in-person.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
Provide administrative support in a professional, confidential, and organized manner. Administrative support includes monitoring, routing, and drafting correspondence, managing incoming telephone calls, filing, copying, welcoming visitors, and supporting colleagues on the Advancement team as needed.
Schedule meetings and manage individual and departmental calendars for the Chief Advancement Officer and Advancement team.
Manage and update event calendars for the Advancement team (Facilities Schedule, School Calendar, Google Calendar).
Deposit checks for the Business Office (charitable donations), manage mailings, and assist with various projects as needed.
Manage invoices, reimbursements, and receipts for the Chief Advancement Officer and Advancement team.
Order supplies, stationery, and materials for all office employees at the 1065 Park Avenue location.
Additional Duties:
Update constituent records in the Advancement Database (Raiser's Edge) in partnership with the Database Services Administrator, ensuring data accuracy for communications, stewardship, and reporting.
Assist in planning, executing, and staffing fundraising and friend raising events, campaigns, appeals, and special projects, including managing logistics and materials (some evenings required).
Research and draft the Fall and Spring Stewardship report letters under the supervision of the Director of Strategic Engagement.
Perform new family research in the Spring once incoming families have been enrolled.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Advancement Officer.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Organized and detail oriented.
Demonstrated proficiency using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Internet Browsers and other PC and Mac based applications.
Raiser’s Edge or comparable CRM experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills. Candidates must be able to communicate equally well with staff, faculty, administrators, parents, and board members in the school community.
Interest in a career in an educational setting.
Ability to work with confidential material.
A sense of humor is helpful.
