Summary/ Objective:
Oxbridge Academy, a non-profit independent school serving grades 6–12 in West Palm Beach, Florida, seeks a full-time Middle School Humanities Teacher. This employee will adapt and bring to life an existing interdisciplinary Humanities curriculum that weaves together history, literature, and English Language Arts to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of the human experience. Through the exploration of meaningful questions, projects, and instruction, students will gain perspective and think critically about how people live, create, learn, share, and adapt across time and place. With a strong emphasis on reading critically, writing clearly and concisely, and communicating ideas effectively, the teacher will help students find relevance in their learning while developing a stronger sense of purpose, and voice.
The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, connection, and strong communication skills through engaging, inquiry-based instruction that integrates reading, writing, history, and culture. This teacher should bring creativity and flexibility to the classroom, adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of middle school learners while challenging students to grow as independent thinkers and learners. They will cultivate an environment where students feel seen, valued, and supported, building the confidence to think critically, communicate effectively, and take intellectual risks. Applicants with academic backgrounds or teaching experience in English, History, or interdisciplinary Humanities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Tasks/Essential Functions:
Be enthusiastic about teaching Middle
Combine thematic history units with Language Arts and Literature to create a course that holistically explores these subjects for Middle School Students.
Work with the Middle School team to supervise and provide opportunities outside the classroom.
Work with the Humanities team to scaffold and sequence Humanities instruction.
Prepare learning activities in an environment that fosters collaboration, inquiry, innovation, and personal discovery.
Provide meaningful feedback on both formative and summative
Adapt and differentiate teaching methods and instructional material to meet students varying needs, abilities, and interests.
Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate within the department, school community, and greater community on multidisciplinary projects and initiatives.
Maintain accurate and complete student records in the current student information system as required by law, policies, and administrative regulations.
Observe students in a variety of educational environments and evaluate their academic performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Establish and enforce rules for behavior, cultivating Oxbridge’s core values of kindness, courtesy, integrity, respect, and compassion.
Advise a group of students and keep parents and legal guardians informed about student’s progress.
Pursue relevant professional development to maintain expertise in subject matter, curriculum development, and teaching methods.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree Advanced degree in a related field preferred.
Demonstrated ability to engage the interest of middle and high school age
Preferred, at least three years of relevant classroom teaching Ability to work well with students, parents, and all members of the Oxbridge community.
